Personally Identifiable Information, or PII, is any data that can be used to identify a specific individual, for example full name, date of birth, social security or nation insurance numbers, passport number, etc.

There are three new permissions within Roles that now determine who will be able to see information that contains PII, and who will be able to determine which assets contain PII. These permissions will be turned on for specific Roles by your Project Manager.

Once a Role has the new permissions turned on, the banner will appear on all uploaded assets.

By default, an asset will be marked as PII Unknown.

If an asset is marked as containing PII the banner will read as below, and will not be visible to all users:

If an asset is marked at not containing PII the banner will read as below and will be visible to all roles that can view assets:

If an asset is marked incorrectly, you will be able to change it by clicking on the Pencil and selecting the correct status:
