If you are unable to update your iOS wirelessly, and your iPad is asking you to connect to iTunes to update it, then please follow the below instructions on how to put your device into recovery mode (DFU Mode).

Before carrying out the below steps, please ensure that all videos and date currently stored on the iPad is updated to ChilliPharm as it will be deleted during this process

If you are using a Windows computer, you will need iTunes on your computer to be able to complete this process. If you are using a Mac, it will use Finder to complete this process

Requirements:

Putting your iPad into DFU Mode

To put your iPad into DFU mode, please follow the steps below:

  1. Connect the iPad to your computer using the USB cable supplied in your filming it - the one that is used for charging your iPad

  2. Hold down both Home and Lock

  3. After 8 seconds, release Lock while continuing to hold down Home

    Nothing will be displayed on the iPad screen while the device is in DFU mode. If open iTunes will alert you that a device was detected in recovery mode

  4. Once in DFU Mode, your computer will prompt you to restore the device to update the iOS, press Restore

    ONLY press restore once you have uploaded all relevant videos and files into ChilliPharm otherwise you will lose data

  5. Follow the onscreen instructions, on your computer

  7. Follow the onscreen instructions, click Next, then Agree

  8. The process will then start, you can monitor its progress using the progress bar at the bottom of the screen
